Advising and coaching play a crucial role in supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students in TRIO programs. This interactive session will explore how the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) model can be integrated into counseling and coaching strategies to enhance student resilience, self-awareness, and decision-making. Participants will gain practical tools to create student-centered advising approaches that promote emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and academic persistence. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, attendees will learn how SEL can be applied to pre-college and post-secondary students within TRIO Talent Search and Student Support Services (SSS). The session will also provide SEL-based advising frameworks that help students navigate academic and personal challenges while fostering long-term success
